Day1: SAIGON

Day1: SAIGON

Arrival in Saigon, welcome by your guide and driver. Transfer to the city center. This day will be dedicated to the visit of the largest city of Vietnam, named "the Pearl of the Far East". You will start in the old quarters of Cholon, called "Vietnamese Chinatown" where you will discover the Binh Tay market which is a large ocher building with tiled roof designed by a French architect and financed by a rich Chinese merchant. The tour will continue along Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street specialized in Chinese pharmacopoeia, the Thien Hau Temple dedicated to the goddess of the sea. Visit Giac Lam Pagoda. On the way back to Saigon you will stop in a lacquer factory. In Saigon, you will take the time to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral in the colonial district with its red brick silhouette rising on the Place de la Commune in Paris, the Central Post Office, evoking the architecture of a railway station, just like its splendid vaulted metal frame, designed by Gustave Eiffel, the palace of reunification.

Day 2: SAIGON - BEN TRE - CHO LACH

Day 2: SAIGON - BEN TRE - CHO LACH

At 8:00, your guide and your driver will pick you up at your hotel. After 2 hours drive, arrive at Ben Tre. Boarding aboard a boat to begin your discovery of the delta with the discovery of crafts such as the manufacture of bricks, various confectionery made from coconut milk, .... Lunch at the inhabitant. The boat takes you to the villages inhabited by arroyos, you will visit the manufacture of mats, enjoy tea, seasonal fruits at the inhabitant before taking a ride in a rickshaw through villages, rice fields and market gardening. Arrival in Cho Lach, installation in the homestay "the Mekong Garden". You ride a bike around the village. You participate in the homestay cooking class to prepare dinner. Finally, you will have the opportunity to rest by soaking your feet in lemongrass water.

After breakfast, at 7:30 am, board the boat to Cai Be, a small village in the delta to visit the floating market of Cai Be.

 

You will continue the cruise towards family craft companies where you can discover the manufacture of rice cakes, biscuits made from popcorn, candies with coconut milk, as well as dehulling and drying of longans, fruits whose plantations are widespread in the delta.

 

Lunch will be served in an old Mandarin house dating back to the end of the 19th, located in a former lush plantation, along the river ...

 

You will continue the cruise to Sadec, where you will walk through the quiet streets of Sa Dec where still remain pretty colonial houses, ancient temples and "Dinh". Visit of the school "Truong Vuong" where Marguerite Duras did her primary studies. You will have the opportunity to see the markets of plants and bonsai on the road to Sadec during the preparation period of Tet.

 

Transfer to Saigon airport for your flight to Danang. Arrival in Danang, welcome by your driver, transfer to your hotel in Hoi an. Overnight in Hoi An.

At 8:30, you will start your tour of the old town of Hoi An on foot: the ancient port of Faifo who saw the maritime trade flourish since the time Cham and was opened to the West in the 15th century. At that time, warehouses and counters began to multiply like the pagoda and the Japanese bridge. You will continue to the Hoi An Cultural Museum, Fujien Headquarters, Ton Ky House, also known as Phung Hung House and Handicrafts Workshop.

 

 

 

As the Tet Feast approaches, families prepare a lot of lanterns, with decorations in the family or in the street, you can see it while strolling around town.

You take the bike for a walk or go to the beach.

Day 5: HOI AN - MY SON - HUE

Day 5: HOI AN - MY SON - HUE

In the morning, at 7:30, you will go to the sacred heart of the region, the ancient capital of the kingdom of Champa, My Son, built in the fourth century, but whose monuments currently visible date mostly from the ninth to the twelfth century. Enclosed in a natural amphitheater of hills covered with lush vegetation, symbolizing the feminine nature, this site is the place of contact between the world of men and the cosmic world, a fabulous sacerdotal complex still full of mystery, despite the pangs of time and wars. Temples and "kalans" combine the grace of decorations with the slenderness of vertical lines. We will evoke all the spirituality that dominated this kingdom for more than five centuries and will try to penetrate the mysteries.

 

You attend an Apsara dance show at the entrance of the site. Your guide will help you better understand this Cham civilization.

 

After a free lunch in town, you will head south to climb to the summit of Cloud Pass which marks the climatic boundary between north and south. Upon arrival in Da Nang, you will visit the Cham Museum and the Ngu Hanh Son Marble Mountains.

Day 6: HUE

Day 6: HUE

Hue is an ancient land, a poetic region and well known for the architectural ensemble of palaces, citadels, temples, pagodas and tombs of kings and Nguyen lords that they have carefully built in the middle of the magnificent landscapes of both banks of the river perfumes. Hue is known not only under the name of Wonderful Capital but is also famous under its name of Buddhist Capital due to the pious belief of the Nguyen Lords for more than 200 years of construction in Cochin China (1558-1775). Hue is one of the peaks of the art of two distinguished cultural currents: folk and dynastic. While visiting Hue, you will discover a new culture, a historical epoch of Vietnam and picturesque landscapes ...

 

 

 

Arrival at Hue around noon. You will start the visit of Hue by the imperial city: door of the South, esplanade of Great Salutations, palace of the supreme peace, palace of the King ... Then, you will visit the mausoleum of king Tu Duc, a very poetic place, then the market of Dong Ba. You can also take a bike ride from the city center to the Thanh Toan Bridge through the rice fields and villages.

After breakfast, you will embark aboard a sampan for an excursion on the Perfume River punctuated with several stops: visit the pagoda of the Lady Celestial (Thien Mu) which is one of the oldest and most most beautiful of Hue with its remarkable stepped tower. You will continue the visit by the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang.

 

Then around 13h, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi. Welcome by your driver. Transfer to your hotel in the city center. Free dinner. Night in Hanoi.

"In Deca of the River", was founded in 1010 on the right bank of the Red River. She then portrays the name Dai The "Great Citadel" before being renamed Thang Long, the "Dragon taking flight", as the country emerged from more than 10 centuries of Chinese rule.

 

In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. You will visit the ethnographic museum which will help you to get an initial idea about the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam.

 

Take a tour of the city by visiting the Flower Market where people sell peach, apricot and kumquats flowers - the traditional and typical Tet festival in Vietnam.

 

You will stroll through the streets of 36 guilds and guilds to discover the daily life and charm of Hanoi.

 

In the evening, transfer to the train station for the night train to Lao Cai. Night on board.

Day 10:SAPA - CAN CAU market - BAC HA

You will have breakfast before driving to Can Cau Market, one of the wildest markets on the Chinese border. Mountain people exchanged their goods by barter. Back to Bac Ha for lunch, you can then move to the hotel.

 

In the afternoon, you will do a 4km hike and visit a colorful H'Mong village. You will have dinner and spend the night in Bac Ha. Night at the inhabitant. You can also participate in the preparation of rice cakes with family members and eat a meal similar to the Tet holiday here.

Day 11: BAC HA - HANOI

Day 11: BAC HA - HANOI

You will be awakened early by the sounds of horses descending to Bac Ha market, the largest and most colorful market in the region where you can meet the different ethnic minorities of the region: H'Mong variegated, Tay ... Especially at the approach Tet, the market is even more lively and colorful with young girls in traditional dresses who sell and buy all kinds of goods for this big party.

 

Transfer to Lao Cai train station for the night train to Hanoi. Night on board.

Departure for Halong Bay. Arrive in Halong, you will board immediately aboard a traditional sailing junk. Equipped with comfortable cabins, tastefully decorated, our private junk will allow you to discover all of Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay by taking an unusual cruise, far from the tourist spots. Your journey starts at the Port Hon Gai where you embark at 12:10. The crew will offer you a welcome drink as the junk crosses Halong Bay to the southwest towards Lan Ha Bay.

 

 

 

A lunch based on seafood and fish will be served, followed by a moment of relaxation on the deck. You will discover Halong Bay by sailing (if the wind lends itself) through thousands of "sugar loaves" emerging from the waves. The cruise continues to the tunnel of Ca where a boat trip will allow you to discover, once the tunnel crossed, a beautiful lake completely surrounded by cliffs.

 

Then the cruise resumes towards the bay where you will spend the night. We will anchor for dinner and overnight in a calm cove. Night on board the boat.

Day 14: HALONG TERRESTE - HANOI

Early in the morning, visit the village market. Back to the hotel for breakfast, you will take a boat for a nice two hour ride on the river while contemplating the beautiful landscape.

 

The driver will then drive you to Bich Dong pagoda (Emerald pagoda).

 

Free lunch at the local restaurant.

 

Then you can cycle on a path in the middle of villages, rice paddies to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of the country in the tenth century, where there are two temples (King Dinh and King The previous). Cycling is the best way to approach people, unforeseen encounters will remain unforgettable moments of your stay in Vietnam.

 

Back to Hanoi. Tonight is the lunar December 30, the New Year's Eve in Vietnam. You can stroll through the old town looking at the offering trays in front of the houses of each family, put there to invite the ancestors to participate in the party. In the morning, your guide will accompany you to the Confucius Temple (1070), which became a few years later the first Vietnamese university known as the Temple of Literature to fully understand the history of the country. You can see the masters "Ong Do" in traditional costume of Vietnamese men in the past, with their special pen, write letters like "TAI", "LOC", "PHUC" ... to visitors (those who request) that the people will hang on the wall of their homes wishing to have "wealth", "prosperity", "happiness" ... and also all the other letters they want to have for a happy new year full of success and joy.

 

You can also visit a pagoda where people come to pray Buddha to protect them, to have good health, luck ....

 

In the evening, transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
