HANOI - THAC BA

Departure towards West of Hanoi by 4×4 car following the Northern Red River to reach Son Tay.You will go through several villages, passing by pagodas, temples and rice fields. You will discover the daily life of the inhabitants. You will finally arrive in Mong Phu – the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Visit of the Communal House and the oldest house in the village which dates back to 1635. Then, drive to Thac Ba Lake. On the way, discover how mats and curtains are made with palm trees leaves. Enjoy the great home stay in the traditional stilt house of Dao people for the night (possibility of spending the night at La Vie Vu Linh stilt house eco lodge by the lake).

THAC BA - LUC YEN - BAC HA

After breakfast, drive on a road that will offer stunning scenery. Arrive in Luc Yen Valley. Luc Yen is a lively small town with its local economy activity based on mining. Climb up the mountain to reach the Red Dao neighbors of the upper village. This village is of matrilineal tradition. Then, discover Red Dao and colorful flower H’Mong territories. Possibility of cruising on Chay River. Enjoy stunning scenery in the mountains between China and Vietnam. Upon arrival in Bac Ha end of afternoon, dinner and night in the hotel.

BAC HA - XIN MAN - HOANG SU PHI

After breakfast, you will drive through wonderful landscapes to reach an eco-lodge. Our friends Lan Phuong and Michel as well as their staff will welcome you and make sure you spend a great night.

HOANG SU PHI - HA GIANG

After breakfast, trek in surrounding villages. On Sunday, you can visit Hoang Su Phi Market where you discover ethnic minorities’ diversity and the colorful flower H’Mong Market. The weekly markets of the north are a kaleidoscope of color and excitement, bustling with wonderful activities. After lunch, walk down to Ha Giang, provincial capital. Dinner and night in Ha Giang.

HA GIANG - DONG VAN

After breakfast, departure for the karst plateau of Dong Van via Quan Son. On the way, visit of Nung and Tay Villages. In Sa Phin valley, discover the palace of the former Meo ethnic minority lord: Vuong Chi Sinh. It will give you an understanding of the prosperity and power of H’Mong region. Upon arrival in Dong Van, city tour to discover Dong Van Old Quarter with its houses of one or two hundred years old. Night in Dong Van.

DONG VAN - MEO VAC - BAO LAC

After breakfast, departure for Bao Lac. via the famous Ma Phi Leng pass (altitude of 1500m) and Meo Vac. Bao Lac is located very near to the Chinese border. You will meet many ethnic minorities. Enjoy the great home stay in the traditional house of Lo Lo people for the night.

BAO LAC - BA BE

After breakfast, departure for Ba Be Lake and its national park. On the way, discover stunning landscapes. Drive through Lo Lo, San Chi, H’Mong and Dao regions. By the lake, meet Black Tay people and enjoy the great home stay in their traditional house for the night.

BA BE - CAO BANG

After breakfast, board a small boat to cruise on the lake. Then, cruise on Nam Nang River and visit Puong Cave. Departure for Cao Bang. After 2 hour-drive, you will reach Gio Pass and meet Black Zdao people who go back home with wood and manioc carried on their back. Arrival in Cao Bang end of afternoon and night in the hotel.

CAO BANG – BAN GIOC WATERFALLS – CAO BANG

After breakfast, drive towards the Chinese border via Ma Phuc Pass. From the top, you will see breathtaking scenery. Visit the weekly market of Trung Khanh which is famous for chestnuts and duck. Arrive at Ban Gioc Waterfalls around noon. Free time to discover the most beautiful waterfalls of North Vietnam. Lunch as a pic-nic. Then, back to Cao Bang to visit Phuc Sen Village where the Nung people live. Night in Cao Bang.

CAO BANG – LANG SON

After breakfast, departure for Lang Son via That Khe and Dong Khe. You will drive on a road that is not only beautiful but also historical. Arrival in Lang Son end of afternoon. Visit of Dong Kinh Market, Tam Thanh Cave and Nhi Thanh Cave. Dinner and night in the hotel.

LANG SON – HALONG

Early departure for Halong Bay. Upon arrival, transfer to our traditional private sailing Junk with a welcome cocktail. Cruise among thousands of sugar loaf shapes towards Lan Ha Bay. Delicious seafood lunch *. The Junk will drop the anchor in a remote area free of tourists. Dinner and night aboard.

CAT BA – HAI PHONG – HANOI

After breakfast, boat-ride to CA tunnel and discover a hidden lake surrounded by cliffs full of monkeys (endangered species). Cruise in Lan Ha Bay to discover the stunning beaches of Ba Trai Dao. Travel through a floating fishing village. Lunch aboard. Disembark at Ben Beo harbor. Then, board a fast ferry for a quick crossing to Haiphong where your driver will pick you up. Back to Hanoi for the night.

After breakfast, free time to discover the city and do some shopping. Transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
