1

PAKSE - TADLO - PAKSE

Upon arrival, you are met and drive ahead to Tad Lo, territory of Lao Teung people. Visit of Bane Lak Sip Chet (blacksmith village) and Lak Xao Bane and (Highway No. 20). Then. bus tour to visit the falls in Muang Phasouam Bachieng. Continue to Bane Houey Houne (Katou village) and Bane KhiengTad Soung ( Nge tribes) near Tadlo. Relax by the falls. Return to Pakse via Thateng Muang Muang and Pak Song. On the way visit Bane PhoungTai Kok (Kaleum Village) and a plantation of Arabica near Paksong. Then, drive to Sekatam Tok Waterfalls. Night in the hotel.

PAKSE - CHAMPASSAK

After breakfast, departure for Champassak. Visit of Wat Phou temples, dating back from the 6th century. Transfer to Champasak harbor and board a traditional private boat for a cruise on the Mekong River towards Khong Island. Lunch as a picnic. Visit of Lao Loum minorities’ villages along the river. Upon arrival on Khong Island, check in in the hotel. Night on the island.

KHONG ISLAND

After breakfast, board a private boat to cruise down the Mekong through 4000 islands (Siphandone) until you reach Done Det. Discover Lipha Somphamit waterfalls by the Cambodian border. Lunch in a local restaurant. Around 4pm, board a pirogue to watch Irrawaddy dolphins (Along with Myanmar, it is the only place where freshwater dolphins can be observed). Finally, visit of Khone Phapheng Waterfalls, highlight of the tour. Night at Sala Ban Khone Hotel.

CHAMPASSAK

Early in the morning. Drive back to Champassak. The adventure begins by 45 minutes of trek to reach a remote village. There, you will learn how to ride an elephant (one elephant per person). The explanations will last about 2 hours and will be teach by an inhabitant. It will give you a great opportunity to share and understand daily life in Laos. Lunch with the inhabitants. In the afternoon, start to ride the elephants through fields and tropical forests to finally reach Phou Asa temple. Back in Champassak, night in the hotel.

CHAMPASSAK - PAKSE

Transfer to Pakse airport for your departing flight.
