HANOI

Pick-up at the airport around 7am by your driver and your guide. Check-in at your hotel in the center of Hanoi. The rooms themselves, however, are not available until 1:30pm. Visit of the Temple of Confucius (1070), also known as “Temple of Literature”, which became the first Vietnamese national university. Casual walk around the Old Quarter with its “36 streets”, the Dong Xuan covered market, and the ancient House in Ma May street, to discover the daily life of Hanoi citizens. If spare time, visit of the Ngoc Son Temple (Jade Temple) in the middle of the Hoan Kiem Lake. Night in Hanoi.

HANOI - LAO CAI

After breakfast, your travel and driver will pick you up to give you a tour of the main monuments to see in Hanoi. It starts with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the palace of the General Governor of Indochina, the One-Pillar Pagoda. You’ll then go to the West Lake to visit the Tran Quoc Pagoda (Hanoi’s oldest pagoda, built in the 6th century). Lunch will take place in one of the local restaurants of your choice. Visit of the Museum of ethnography in the afternoon, which holds traditional clothes and utensils from the 54 ethnies living in Vietnam. Visit of the Main Theater and the Cathedral Saint-Joseph in the centre of the city. In the evening, a traditional water-puppet show will conclude this fulfilling day. Free time for diner until 8pm, then the driver will take you to the train station. You will take the 9:15pm train to Lao Cai, and travel by night (4 couchettes wagon, air con).

LAO CAI - CAN CAU - BAC HA

Arrival in Lao Cai around 6am. Breakfast and departure by car to Can Cau market, one of the most traditional markets near the Chinese border. The different ethnies living in the mountains come to trade respective goods. After eating lunch in Bac Ha, you will check in your hotel. During a 4-hour walk in the afternoon, you will visit a colorful H’Mong’s village. Diner and night in Bac Ha.

BAC HA - SAPA

Early in the morning, visit Bac Ha market, the biggest one in the area. You can meet colorful H’Mong, Tay and Zay minorities. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit of a Tay Village by Chay River, and cruise on Chay River. Drive towards Lao Cai and then Sapa through stunning landscapes and terraced ricefields. Sapa is a very charming town at the bottom of Mount Fanxipan, the highest mountain of Vietnam. Arrival in Sapa by the end of the afternoon, check in and dinner. Night in Sapa.

SAPA - HANOI

After breakfast, you will go for a 6km car drive to reach Laochai village (Black H’Mong Village). Two hour-trek (9km) through terraced ricefields and minorities’ villages. Arrival in Tavan (Zay village). Lunch will be a picnic. In the afternoon, continue your trek towards Giang Ta Chai (Red Zao Village) where the driver will wait for you. Drive back to Sapa, then to Lao Cai station. Take the night train to Hanoi.

HANOI - HA LONG

Early in the morning, arrive in Hanoi. City tour to visit the flower market and attend the flag raising ceremony. Then, departure for Halong. Upon arrival, transfer to our Junk with a welcome cocktail. Cruise in Halong Bay. Delicious seafood lunch *. Then, relax on the deck or in the living room while traveling full sails among thousands of sugar loaf shapes. End of afternoon, discover Ong Cam Bay. Finally, the Junk will drop the anchor in a remote area free of tourists. Diner and night aboard.

CAT BA - HAI PHONG - NINH BINH

Breakfast aboard. Discover Lan Ha Bay. Boat-ride to CA tunnel and discover a hidden lake surrounded by cliffs full of monkeys (endangered species). Travel through a floating fishing village. Check-out at 10am. Then, discover the stunning beaches of Ba Trai Dao for swimming and lunch. Disembark on Catba Islang at noon. Free time to discover the island. Then, board a speed boat at 2:30pm to transfer to Haiphong. Departure for Ninh Binh. Check-in and night in the hotel.

NINH BINH - HANOI - HUE

After breakfast, embark on a paddle boat for a 2 hour cruise on the river. Then, ride a bike to reach Hoa Lu, Hoa Lu, ancient royal capital city in the 10th century. Visit of the ancient dynasty temples of Dinh and Le. Back to Hanoi, direct transfer to Hanoi International Airport for a flight to Hue. Transfer to the hotel. Night in Hue.

HANOI - HUE

The Imperial City of Hue was the capital of Vietnam during the reign of the Nguyen dynasty, the last dynasty in Vietnam. Even today, the Vietnamese regard Hue with awe and respect. Hue is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit of the Imperial Citadel and an old Chinese traditional house. In the afternoon, discover Khai Dinh mausoleum and the Tomb of Minh Mang. Visit Dong Ba market. Dinner and night in Hue.

HUE - HOI AN

After breakfast, board a sampan for a cruise on the Perfume River and visit of Thien Mu Pagoda. Discover Tu Duc Tomb. After lunch, departure for HoiAn, passing the Pass of Ocean Clouds. Dinner and night in HoiAn.

HOI AN

After breakfast, board a boat to reach the old city. Hoi An is a splendour of the past Annam, a most charming town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover historical sites such as private houses, family chapels, community halls, communal houses, temples, pagodas, bridges, wells and tombs. Back to the hotel by rickshaw. Free time. Night in HoiAn.

DA NANG - HO CHI MINH CITY

Early in the morning, transfer to Da Nang airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Visit of the colonial Saigon and discover the Unification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office and Cholon, the city’s lively Chinatown. Dinner and night in Ho Chi Minh City.

HO CHI MINH CITY - CAI BE - CAN THO

After breakfast, departure for Cai Be to board a local boat. Visit of a rice paste factory. Then, board the boat for the Mekong cruise. Welcome cocktail, introduction to the ship and crew and check into the cabins. Departure towards Chợ Lách on the Tiền Giang River. After, lunch, relax on the deck and enjoy the bar. The boat slips into the Chợ Lách canal, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the boat is cruising Mang Thit River. Anchor for the night just downstream from the little Tra On floating market.

CAN THO - CHAU DOC

Breakfast as the ship is resuming its cruise the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho. Arrival in Cái Răng floating market and transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and reach to the Ninh Kieu pier. Then, cruise towards the Cambodian border. Lunch in Long Xuyen. In the afternoon, arrive in Châu Đốc and check-in in Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. On a local boat, visit of a Cham Village. Then, discover floating fish-tanks. Night at Victoria Chau Doc Hotel.

CHAU DOC - PHNOM-PENH

Breakfast. Boat ride from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh. The boat takes you along the Mekong River. It continues on to the Vietnamese (Vinh Xuong) – Cambodian (Kaom Samnar) border and then to Phnom Penh, capital city of Cambodia. Visit of the city: the silver Pagoda, the Royal Palace… Night in Phnom Penh.

PHNOM-PENH - SIEMREAP

Early in the morning, transfer to Phnom-Penh airport for a flight to Siem Reap. Arrival in Siem Reap and transfer to the hotel. Tour on Tonlé Sap Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia. Visit of a floating village and Ta Prohm Temple. Dinner in a restaurant and night in a hotel.

ANGKOR TEMPLES

Early wake-up to discover this amazing and fascinating civilization. Visit of Angkor Vat, Bayon, the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King and the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire: Angkor Thom. Night in Angkor.

SIEMREAP

Discover Kravan and Banteay Srei, splendid temples of Angkor. In the afternoon, you can choose between going back to town to have lunch and discover Roulos Group of Temples or having lunch in a local restaurant near Banteay Srei and discovering the river which is known as the River of Thousands Lingams. On the way back, visit of a Khmer village which makes sugar from palm trees. Transfer to the airport end of afternoon for your departing flight.
