HO CHI MINH CITY

Pick-up by your driver and your guide. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. Visit of the colonial Saigon and discover the Unification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office and Cholon, the city’s lively Chinatown. Night in Ho Chi Minh City.

HO CHI MINH CITY – CAI BE – TRA ON

After breakfast, departure for Cai Be to board a local boat. Visit of a rice paste factory. Then, board the boat for the Mekong cruise. Welcome cocktail, introduction to the ship and crew and check into the cabins. Departure towards Chợ Lách on the Tiền Giang River. After, lunch, relax on the deck and enjoy the bar. The boat slips into the Chợ Lách canal, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the boat is cruising Mang Thit River. Anchor for the night just downstream from the little Tra On floating market.

CAN THO - HO CHI MINH CITY

Breakfast as the ship is resuming its cruise the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho. Arrival in Cái Răng floating market and transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and reach to the Ninh Kieu pier. Back to Ho Chi Minh City and night in the hotel.

HO CHI MINH CITY – NHA TRANG - WHALE ISLAND

Early in the morning, take a 5 Star Express train to Nha Trang. Transfer by car and boat to reach Whale Island. Free time on the island. Night in the hotel.

WHALE ISLAND - NHA TRANG – BUON ME THUOT

Departure from Whale Island towards Buon Me Thuot with a new guide and a new driver. Lunch in Buon Me thuot. Transfer to Nam Ka forest, 80km far from Buon Me Thuot. 3km trek to reach a village where you spend the night. You will discover the culture and daily life of Ede people. Dinner and night in a stilt house.

NAM KA

After breakfast, start a trek through Nam Ka Forest to reach Buon Triet Lake. Lunch as a picnic. Then, cross the lake by pirogue. Possibility of swimming in the lake. Enjoy a great homestay in a traditional house of M’nong people: dinner and night.

BUON ME THUOT – KON TUM

After breakfast, drive to Jun village where you will ride an elephant. Then, cross Lak Lake by pirogue. Back to Buon Me Thuot. Drive to Kon Tum following the former Ho Chi Minh Trail. Visit of the Catholic Seminary and Wooden Church. Visit of Local Orphanages. Night in the hotel.

KON TUM – KONKUTU

After breakfast, drive by car to the Konkolo suspension bridge. Start the trek through villages and rice fields. Lunch as a picnic. Board a pirogue and cruise on Dakbla River towards Konkutu Village. Dinner and night in a house of Konkutu Village.

KONKUTU - KONTUM – HOIAN

Transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Discover a village where Jarai people live. Then, follow the former Ho Chi Minh Trail towards HoiAn. On the way, visit Ta Oi and Ko Tu villages. Arrive in HoiAn in the afternoon. Free time on the beach. Night in the hotel.

HOIAN

After breakfast, board a boat to reach HoiAn downtown. Hoi An is a splendour of the past Annam, a most charming town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover historical sites such as private houses, family chapels, community halls, communal houses, temples, pagodas, bridges, wells and tombs. Free time in HoiAn. Back to the hotel by rick-shaw through villages and rice fields. Night in the hotel.

HOI AN – MY SON – HANOI

After breakfast, departure for My Son, which was built by the Champas who ruled Central Vietnam from 200AD to 1700AD. However, the main visible monuments date back from the 9th-12th centuries. Visit of the site. In the afternoon, drive towards North. Dinner in an old Chinese house. Night in a 3*** hotel.

HUE

The Imperial City of Hue was the capital of Vietnam during the reign of the Nguyen dynasty, the last dynasty in Vietnam. Even today, the Vietnamese regard Hue with awe and respect. Hue is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast, you’ll go and visit the citadel, temples and pagodas which are vestiges of a glorious past. Dinner and night in Hue.

HUE - HANOI

Early morning flight to Hanoi. Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam and the country’s second largest city. Visit of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology which focuses on the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam. Then, visit of the Temple of Literature. It was built in 1070 dedicated to Confucius. Six years later, it became the first university of Vietnam. End the day with a traditional water puppet show. Night in Hanoi.

HANOI - LAO CAI

After breakfast, visit the flower market and discover how people do gymnastics around Hoan Kiem Lake. Then, discover Ho Chi Minh house, the one pillar pagoda and Dien Phuc pagoda. In the afternoon, visit of Ngoc So’n temple. Then, free time. Meet your driver at Mango 118 Le Duan Hotel to go to the station for a train to Lao Cai. Night on the train.

LAO CAI –CAN CAU – THAI GIANG PHO

Arrive in Lao Cai, Pick-up by your driver and your guide. After breakfast, departure by mini-bus for Can Cau market. The market takes place near the Chinese border. In this way, you can meet not only Vietnamese minorities but Chinese minorities. Among others, meet colorful flower H’Mong, Nung and Tay people. Then, drive to Lung Phinh and start a 4h-trekk through rice fields, forests and villages. Arrive in Thai Giang Pho village where Fu La people live. Enjoy a great homestay for dinner and night.

BAC HA - SAPA

Early in the morning, visit Bac Ha market, the biggest one in the area. You can meet colorful flower H’Mong, Tay and Zay minorities. After lunch in a restaurant, visit of a Tay Village by Chay River and cruise on Chay River. Drive towards Lao Cai and then Sapa through stunning landscapes and terraced ricefields. Sapa is a very charming town at the bottom of Mount Fanxipan, the highest mountain of Vietnam. Arrive in Sapa end of afternoon, check in and dinner. Night in Sapa.

SAPA – CAN HO – SUOI THAU – TA PHIN

Visit a local market and meet ethnic minorities: Black H’Mong, Red Dao, Giay… Then, do a trek through bamboo forests, terraced rice fields, H’Mong and Daos villages. Visit of a salmon farm. Lunch as a picnic by the rice fields. Discover the daily life of the locals. Dinner and night in Taphin in a Dao house.

SAXENG – HAU THAO - GAINGTACHAI – SAPA

After breakfast, take a walk and explore the village and its craft industry: embroidery, indigo-dye, weaving… Then, take a “Xe Om” (moto taxi) to reach Saxeng village where you start the trek. Walk through forests and meet H’Mon, Dzay and Dzao people. Upon arrival in HauThao village, you will have astunning view over Muong Hoa valley. Lunch as a picnic by the rice fields or lunch with a local family. Then, continue the trek through terraced rice fields. Night in Sapa.

SAPA – THAN UYEN – MU CANG CHAI

Early wake-up and breakfast. Farewell to your host family. Departure for Mu Cang Chai driving by Hoang Lien Son mountains. Landscapes are stunning and breathtaking. Upon arrival in Than Uyen, 6km trek to visit Thai, Nung and Dzao villages. Then, continue to drive towards Mu Cang Chai. On the way, stop several time to take pictures of Vietnam’s most stunning terraced rice fields. End of afternoon, arrive in Mu Cang Chai. Night in a hotel.

MU CANG CHAI – NGHIA LO

After breakfast, drive to Nghia Lo. On the way, stop in La Pan Tan and visit a beautiful valley. Lunch after the trek. Drive and reach Tu Le Pass (2000 meters high) where you will stop for breathtaking landscapes. Arrive in Nghia Lo end of afternoon. Dinner in a White Thai home. Night in a hotel to get enough rest.

NGHIA LO – THAC BA

After breakfast, visit of a Muong Market. Then, transfer to Thac Ba, which is the biggest man-made lake in Vietnam. Lunch. In the afternoon, cruise on Thac Ba Lake and visit a Dao village by the lake. Enjoy a great homestay for dinner and night.

THAC BA – HANOI

In the morning, discover Dzao, Tay and Kinh villages. Then, drive towards Hanoi and reach Son Tay. You will finally arrive in Mong Phu – the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Visit of the Communal House and the oldest house in the village which dates back from 1635. Lunch in an inhabitant’s home. Then, continue driving to reach Hanoi. You will go through several villages, passing by pagodas, temples and rice fields. You will discover the daily life of the inhabitants. End of afternoon, arrive in the capital city of Vietnam. Night in the hotel.

HANOI – NINH BINH

After breakfast, departure for Hoa Lu in Ninh Binh province. Hoa Lu is the ancient royal capital city of the Dinh and the Le. Upon arrival, visit of the ancient dynasty temples of Dinh and Le. Then, ride bike to reach Tam Coc. You will meet many locals in their daily occupation. After lunch in Tam Coc, embark on a paddle boat for a 2 hour cruise on the river. The landscape looks like the one in Halong Bay. For some people, it even looks better than Halong Bay. Visit of the Three Caves and Bich Dong Pagoda. Night in Tam Coc.

NINH BINH – HAI PHONG – CAT BA

Early departure for Hai Phong. Upon arrival, boarding on a fast ferry for a quick crossing to Cat Ba Island. Visit of Cat Ba fish market. At Ben Beo harbor, transfer to our Junk with a welcome cocktail. Travel through a floating fishing village. Cruise in La Han Bay. If the weather allows it, the Junk will cruise towards Dau Be island. One-hour cruise to arrive at Dau Be floating market. Delicious seafood lunch *. Then, visit of a floating house and its fish-tank. Back on board, coffee and tea will be served. Free time to rest while the crew will stop the engine to travel full sails in Ong Cam Bay. Boat-ride to CA tunnel and discover a hidden lake surrounded by cliffs full of monkeys (endangered species). Finally, the Junk will drop the anchor in a remote area free of tourists. Diner and night aboard.

CAT BA – HALONG – HANOI

Breakfast aboard. Full sails cruise among thousands of sugar loaf shapes. Lunch aboard. Disembarkation at Bai Chay harbor in Halong. Departure towards Hanoi. On the way, visit of the Dong Trieu pottery village. Upon arrival, direct transfer to Hanoi International Airport for your departing flight.
